Student Conference: Resources, fall 2012

In this section you find literature references and links to on-line material on technical writing, research methodology, and (oral) presentations.

The University has a writing lab (språkverkstan). Their staff can help you identifying typical problems in your text(s). However, please note that they will NOT proofread or even edit your entire material. YOU have to write the paper, not them. The services offered are nevertheless very helpful. Please contact Jenny Signarsson (at StudentCentrum: sprakverkstad@adm.umu.se) for more information. Note: You must make an appointment in good time before our submission deadline(s).

Technical Writing

  • The university's English department has also collected some excellent resources on their page Help When Writing in English. The handouts from Purdue's on-line writing lab are highly recommended.
  • At Indiana University you can find a range of very useful Pamphlets on writing issues. Recommended reading.
  • English Grammar and Style Notes (Jack Lynch).
