Obstacle avoidance algorithms for the Kompai robot
The present navigational system in the robot does not have any obstacle avoidance functionality. The project involves implementation of such functionality and integration with the existing system. The project relates to current research projects at the department and will be conducted in close collaboration with other researchers.

Interfacing and evaluation of an RFID system for a mobile robot
The project includes the following task:
- Mounting hardware on the Kompai robot
- Interfacing the RFID reader to the computer
- Creating a database for tag/object information
- Creating a display system that displays pictures for "visible" object(s)
- Creating a robot control program that searches for and moves towards a given object /tag.
The project relates to current research projects at the department and will be conducted in close collaboration with other researchers.
