Doctoral Studies

The Department of Computing Science offers programs for doctoral studies in Computing Science and in Computer Science Education. We strive to create an inspiring environment in which our doctoral students can pursue interesting research and develop their personality.

Our goal is that every doctoral student is a member of an active research group consisting of researchers in different stages of their scientific careers who can help each other by providing input and inspiration.

Since the beginning of 2009, the department organizes a Doctoral Students' Day once every semester. On this day, the doctoral students of the department present their research questions and results in a comprehensible way for the rest of the department and other interested people. This event has quickly become popular, among other things because the presentations give rise to interesting discussions and useful comments. In many cases, unexpected relations between different lines of research become visible.
